First Ride On An Electric Dirt Bike: Testing The HappyRun G300 Pro In The Woods With My Son

We've always lived in the countryside, with a stretch of forest right in our backyard. It's usually a ten-minute drive to the nearest convenience store. Recently, my son came across an electric dirt bike called HappyRun G300 Pro on YouTube - 3000W rated power, off-road tires, dual shock absorbers, and the official word is that no forest trails or steep dirt roads are out of the question. His eyes lit up and he said, “Dad, let's try this!”

So we placed the order, and a few days later, a black-and-blue G300 Pro was parked in front of our house.

Unboxing & First impressions

At first glance, it looked more like a lightweight motocross bike than the kind of “bike” I was expecting. The frame feels solid but not bulky. The front and rear shock absorbers look professionally made, and the tires are thicker than the ones on my tractor.

My son and I unboxed and assembled it in the yard. He was so excited—just like when he was a kid and couldn’t stop playing with his Legos. After it was fully charged, we decided to go for a test ride on the backwoods trails.

The moment you start: quiet, but very powerful

The moment you start: quiet, but very powerful

The moment I press the power button, there's no engine roar—just a cold glow from the dashboard and a faint hum from the motor. My son hopped on first, twisted the throttle, and the bike took off with a whoosh.

"Dad! That was faster than I thought!" he shouted from the front. Then I got on the other one (we bought two). I was a little nervous at first, but the bike accelerated smoothly and didn’t jerk at all.

Forest ride: Off road fun, surprisingly easy

We slowly accelerated along a familiar trail. On the uphill section, the G300 Pro didn't feel a trace of strain, and the 3000W motor had enough torque to take me uphill with ease. Going downhill, the front and rear disc brakes felt responsive and solid, giving me a real sense of control.

What impressed me most was the suspension—the front fork and rear shock absorbed rocks, roots, and even small jumps with ease. At my age, I'm particularly sensitive to bumps, but I rode around without any discomfort.

My son turned to me and said, “Dad, I want to ride this to school every day!”

We circled the mountain for almost an hour and on the way home, he asked me, “Dad, why don't I ride this to and from school?” I laughed and said, “Wait for your mom's nod.”

But I realized the G300 Pro was more than just a bike. For my son and me, it opened the door to a new way of life—freedom to explore the countryside, save on gas, enjoy the scenery, and share a little adventure together.

Summary

The HappyRun G300 Pro is not just a toy for us, nor is it an ordinary commuter - it's a “companion” for fathers and sons to share their time between the sun and the dirt.

It’s quiet, powerful, and sturdy. Even if you’re not a pro, if you love nature and adventure, it’s definitely worth a try.
